Textures

One of the joys of landscape and nature photography is the possibility that just around the next corner you may come across something that you find inspirational, interesting or unusual, something that gets you reaching for your camera. Wandering around on a beach on a Scottish island, struggling because of the blue skies and harsh light, I entered a rocky inlet and was immediately drawn to this scene. The interplay between the textured rocks, the shapes in the sand, and the complimentary colours stirred my interest, particularly as I recognised that the scene would only exist for a short time due to the incoming tide. Just enough time to get the camera out of the bag!
